In a judgement passed on 12 May 1998, the Hamburg regional court ruled that anyone posting a link to a website, for example, may also carry some responsibility for the content of the site to which the link is posted. The court went on to rule that such joint liability can only be precluded by an explicit statement of dissociation from the relevant content.
